Approved auto body repairers have met specified criteria, including required investments in their facilities and equipment as well as committing to several best practices within the auto repair industry.
There are several auto body repair shops today which offer a wide range of services to their customers. Body and paint shop is any body shop which performs the dual function of repairing any damage caused to the body of your car and then painting it.
There are a lot of processes in the auto body repair industry. Also, the repair personnel have to go through years of training. This training encompasses cost estimation, refinishing, painting, body construction, welding and the like. To work in an auto body repair shop, you need to know all these and more to guarantee your potential customers top notch service. These vehicles that come in everyday are in different conditions, a good worker should know what it takes to repair both minor and major jobs.
A couple brought in their 2007 Infiniti M35 because of a gash in the vinyl of their passenger side door panel. This is what I saw when I opened the door.
"Wow!" was about all I could say. I told them that we usually don't do repairs that large with great results. I told him I'm a percentages type person, and I felt I could only make it look about 85% better and there was no way to get it perfect with lasting results. He was insistent that I at least try and wanted a quote so I told him $100. He jumped all over that because the cost of a new door panel (which isn't two pieces as it appears) cost $1200, without installation. So, this is how it came out.
The couple came to pick up their vehicle and were extremely happy with the results. Although it wasn't perfect, it would definitely take away the eye sore of the damage and prevent any further damage to the vinyl on the panel. I think 85% was a fair assessment after all.
